In order to have a concise explanation for my friends, let me briefly introduce my understanding of the concept of doctoral tutor and the basic requirements for doctoral students. Cultivating doctoral students is a brand-new job. It is undoubtedly a new challenge for me to cultivate doctoral students who satisfy the school, the students themselves and themselves. In the new doctoral tutor training activity held by Shandong University in the autumn of 2009, a senior doctoral tutor said that there are three main factors affecting doctoral tutor training: school rules, tutor level and student quality. I am willing to abide by the school rules and generally act according to the rules; As for my own academic level, I will not sell myself short, nor be arrogant, but will only redouble my efforts and constantly improve myself; Let me talk about my three requirements or hopes for the quality of candidates: proficiency in English, specific questions and kindness. First, English can be used. In today's increasingly globalized world, it is impossible to create valuable academic achievements without paying attention to improving the internationalization level of academic research, especially for a highly internationalized discipline such as aesthetics. English is the prevailing "working language" in the world. If you want to carry out academic research, academic exchange and academic cooperation smoothly, you must have the basic ability to use English. In short, "global issues, international discourse" is my current basic academic purpose. I have published English papers in international academic journals and have two English translations. Since 2002, he has been teaching professional English to graduate students majoring in literature and art, and has given many speeches in English at international conferences. At present, I am presiding over a national social science fund project, in which three American scholars participate. I hope my doctoral students can have these abilities initially. Secondly, the problem is specific, or the problem consciousness is clear. Through the study and accumulation in the master's stage, candidates should have certain ideas about their academic development direction and have a clear design for their doctoral research. This is reflected in the formation of one or more valuable academic problems. Enter the school with your own problems, expand and correct your own problems by studying doctoral courses, and deepen and solve your own problems in the process of discussion and consultation with your tutor. In short, the study of doctoral students is no longer a "study" in the general sense, but a "cooperative research" with tutors. On the basis of this training concept, I solemnly remind candidates who are interested in applying for my exam to think about a key question, which may be the only question you have to think about when you decide to report the time: There are thousands of tutors in Qian Qian, so why did you apply? That is to say, through your understanding of me, why do you think I am the most suitable tutor to help you and guide you to study for a doctorate? I sincerely hope to take the cultivation of doctoral students as a new way of my academic research: through sincere, harmonious, long-term and close cooperation with doctoral students, not only will doctoral students grow healthily and rapidly, but also promote my own academic research. Third, kindness, that is, the general sense of character or life. Cleverness is certainly an advantage, but cleverness without kindness and kindness will be even more worrying and even terrible. At the same time, many academic problems can never be understood by intelligence, such as the word "benevolence" in Confucianism, which is by no means etymological research, document collation and philosophical reasoning; It is basically a "heart-to-heart" problem between benevolence and benevolence: a pure person can get the message even when reading, and a despicable and insidious person can never be convinced of Mencius' transcendental "good nature"; For another example, people who are indifferent by nature can easily understand and realize "aesthetic transcendence", while those who are greedy for fame and fortune stay in oral expression at most; For another example, a kind-hearted person can easily achieve "harmony between people" and thus practice ecological concepts; And a butcher who kills without blinking an eye, it is difficult to understand and agree with the "intersubjectivity" between man and everything in the world anyway.
