Bohai university, referred to as "Boda" for short, is located in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, a famous historical and cultural city on the coast of Bohai Sea. It is a comprehensive university organized by Liaoning Provincial People's Government. The school is an institution that has the qualification of recommending excellent fresh graduates to study for master's degree without examination and the China government scholarship to train foreign students in China.

By April, 2022, the school had 18 first-class master's authorization points (including 53 in two disciplines) and 10 professional master's authorization points (including 23 categories and fields), covering 6544 disciplines such as economy, law, teaching, literature, history, science, engineering, art, agriculture, philosophy and management.
