When his parents were ill, he was so busy taking care of them that he didn't even have time to undress. One winter, her stepmother Zhu was ill and wanted to eat carp. However, due to the freezing of the river, Wang Xiang was lying naked on the ice. Suddenly, the ice melted, and two carp jumped out of the crack. Wang Xiangxi returned to his stepmother.

Stepmother wants to eat roasted yellowbird again, but yellowbird is hard to catch. Just when Wang Xiang was worried, dozens of yellowbirds suddenly flew into his bird net. He was overjoyed and immediately used it to worship his stepmother. His behavior is a much-told story in Shili Village.

People all praise Wang Xiang as a rare dutiful son in the world. There is a poem praising: there is a stepmother in the world, but Wang Xiang doesn't; There are still ice molds on the river so far.

Because I lost my love for my father, I swept the cow away every time. Parents are ill and can't take off their clothes. Lying on the ice to find carp is an ancient folklore story. The Story of Searching for the Gods, which originated from Gan Bao, tells the story of Wang Xiang, a man from A Jin, fishing on the ice for his stepmother in winter, and is regarded as a classic of filial piety by later generations.

Wang Xiang (184-268), a native of Linyi, was a minister of the Western Jin Dynasty.

Wang Xiang was knighted because of his filial piety and political achievements, and Wang Xiang lived in seclusion for more than 20 years. Later, he became a big sinong, an ordinary county magistrate from Wenxian as well. He died at the age of eighty-four, and his filial piety was sung for generations.

The full name of Twenty-four Filial Pieties is Selected Poems of Twenty-four Filial Pieties, edited by Guo in Yuan Dynasty. One said it was his brother Guo Shouzheng, and the third said it was written by Guo Juye. Twenty-four filial stories from different angles, different environments and different experiences. Because most of the later prints were accompanied by pictures, they were also called "Twenty-four filial piety pictures". It is a popular reading material for promoting Confucianism and filial piety in ancient China.

One of the themes in Twenty-four Filial Pieties is induction. A dutiful son's filial piety will touch everything in the world and get good returns. The same is true of this story. The story of sleeping on the ice for carp fish once again provides another example for the induction of filial piety.

Most of these induced stories have been processed and amplified, so we don't have to take them seriously, but we can extract a core and reasonable wisdom from them, that is, to serve our loved ones with obedience, tolerance and patience, even if they are difficult and mean, they can also solve them with their sincere filial piety.
