PDU (Professional Development Units) refers to the accumulated time spent studying, teaching, or providing volunteer services in the project management profession after you obtain certification. It is measured in hours. One hour equals 1 PDU.

From the date of certificate acquisition, on a three-year cycle, if you accumulate enough PDU, you can continue to maintain the validity of the PMI certificate.

Each PMI certification has different requirements for the number of PDUs, but if there is a renewal requirement, the renewal cycle is three years.

PDU is divided into two categories: Educational and Practical Contribution. Educational PDU can be obtained by participating in professional seminars, classes, and self-study on-site or online.
