Chu Lanlan, a native of Jinzhai, Anhui Province, graduated from China Theatre Academy. Zhang Pai, a successor of Peking Opera, is an advocate and practitioner of new Peking Opera. Chu Lanlan has always been adhering to the concept of "national quintessence art and modern art are integrated and learn from each other". After years of exploration and practice, in 27, she took the lead in putting forward the concept of "New Peking Opera", which was widely recognized both inside and outside the industry.
As an advocate and practitioner of the new Peking Opera, she participated in the creation and directing of the new Peking Opera stage play and the new Peking Opera TV series, namely "The Flower Watching Man on a Stranger" and "The Story of a Bird". These two dramas received rave reviews after they were premiered on the capital stage and broadcast on CCTV. As an explorer, she participated in the starring, directing and filming of the new Peking Opera film "I live at the head of the Yangtze River". The play was broadcast in prime time on CCTV Opera Channel.
After the release of her exploration album "New Sounds and New Peking Opera", it caused great repercussions in the society. Since then, she has combined the elements of Peking Opera with pop music, made bold innovations, and released many singles such as Jiang Xue, Snow in the Cold River, Love in Beauty, and quickly occupied the major charts of Chinese music. As a descendant of the old Red Army, Chu Lanlan participated in the creation of CCTV's "Forever Red Army" documentary. Her theme song "Predecessors" won the "China Radio, Film and Television Award-Chinese Original Song Award".
As a young Peking Opera artist, she is keen on public welfare undertakings. In 213, she initiated and established the Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Public Welfare Fund, and in 214, she became the "Love Ambassador" of the China Care for the Next Generation Working Committee. Many public welfare activities organized and participated by her have attracted the attention of many media at home and abroad.
