Snow leopard is a special product in the mountainous areas of Central Asia and South Asia, with a patchy distribution, covering an area of10.23 million square kilometers, spanning two countries in Central Asia/kloc-0, and once distributed in Myanmar in history.

Snow leopard is at the top of the plateau ecological food chain, also known as the "barometer of high altitude ecosystem health".
