Zhejiang Quality Supervision Bureau recently released the local standard of "Evaluation Standard of Characteristic Towns". This standard is the first local standard to evaluate characteristic towns in China, and will be officially implemented on June 29th, 65438.

The new standard defines the terms and definitions of characteristic towns, specifies the evaluation objects, procedures, methods and indicators of characteristic towns, and proposes to establish an evaluation index system of characteristic towns "1+8". The concept of "characteristic town" originated from Zhejiang, which is a new carrier to accelerate the industrial optimization and upgrading in Zhejiang and a strategic choice to promote the coordinated development of urban and rural areas under the new normal. After three years of cultivation and construction, the characteristic town has become a "Zhejiang model" for institutional innovation and the integration of production and city development. Since the publication of the first batch of provincial characteristic towns, Zhejiang has successively created 108 provincial characteristic towns. According to the requirements of three-year creation, some towns such as Shannan Fund Town in Shangcheng Huang Yu and Yuhang Dream Town have completed the naming acceptance.

The promulgation and implementation of "Evaluation Criteria for Characteristic Towns" will provide scientific, standardized and operable index requirements for the evaluation of characteristic towns in Zhejiang Province, provide effective guidance and basis for the establishment and acceptance of characteristic towns, and provide strong support for forming a standardized long-term evaluation mechanism, continuously improving the construction effectiveness of characteristic towns and optimizing the layout of Zhejiang's productive forces in the new period.
