1. Raise, use and manage special funds for the development of the national film industry (hereinafter referred to as "special funds for films"). Cinemas in cities above the county level in China draw special funds for movies according to 5% of the box office income, and turn them over to the provincial film fund office every month, and then turn them over to the (national) film fund office. The Film Fund Office uses special film funds through the annual departmental budget for macro-control of the development of the film industry. At present, it is mainly used for new cinemas, urban cinema reconstruction subsidies, digital projector installation subsidies, cinemas in poverty-stricken areas subsidies, the upgrading of the national film ticketing integrated information system, and ethnic minority film translation subsidies.
2. Establish, improve and manage the national movie ticketing comprehensive information system. Through this system, more than 2,500 cinemas across the country reported the data of box office, number of people and times of movies to the receiving platform of the Film Fund Office in real time. After statistics, it can provide more accurate, timely and authoritative data for China film industry, government departments, production, distribution and screening.
