According to the inquiry, the applicants of the Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (overseas) should meet the following requirements: by February 3, 2022, they should abide by the laws and regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC), have good scientific ethics, consciously practice the spirit of scientists in the new era, and have a doctorate.

Refers to the teaching system of continuing to engage in scientific research activities for a certain period of time with the purpose of gaining scientific research experience and improving scientific research ability after obtaining a doctorate. It also refers to people engaged in postdoctoral activities.
