If a person dies due to a sudden illness during working hours or if rescue fails and the person dies within 48 hours, it is considered a work-related death. Compensation is paid from the work-related injury insurance fund. Work-related death compensation is calculated based on twenty times the annual disposable income of urban residents in the previous year. Funeral expenses are calculated based on 6 months' wages of employees in the coordinated area. If the unit fails to pay work-related injury insurance, the unit shall compensate.
