The meeting pointed out that the development of strategic emerging industries is an important strategic task, which is of great significance for maintaining long-term stable and rapid economic development under the downward pressure of current economic operation.

Facing the huge demand of economic and social development, the Twelfth Five-Year Development Plan of National Strategic Emerging Industries puts forward the key development directions and main tasks of seven strategic emerging industries.

(1) Energy conservation and environmental protection industries should break through key core technologies such as energy efficiency and cascade utilization, pollutant prevention and safe disposal, resource recovery and recycling, develop new equipment and products with high efficiency, environmental protection and resource recycling, promote clean production and low-carbon technologies, and accelerate the formation of pillar industries.

(2) The new-generation information technology industry should speed up the construction of the next-generation information network, break through the new-generation information technologies such as ultra-high-speed optical fiber and wireless communication, advanced semiconductors and new displays, and enhance its international competitiveness.

(3) The bio-industry should meet the major needs of people's health, agricultural development and resource and environmental protection, strengthen the research and development of key technologies and process equipment such as the utilization of biological resources, and accelerate the construction of a modern bio-industry system.

(4) The high-end equipment manufacturing industry should vigorously develop modern aviation equipment, satellites and application industries, upgrade the development level of advanced rail transit equipment, accelerate the development of marine engineering equipment, make intelligent manufacturing equipment bigger and stronger, and promote the intelligent, accurate and green development of manufacturing industry.

(5) The new energy industry should develop nuclear power, wind power, solar photovoltaic and heat utilization, biomass power generation and biogas with mature technologies, and actively promote the industrialization of renewable energy technologies.

(6) The new material industry should vigorously develop new functional materials, advanced structural materials and composite materials, carry out research and industrialization of basic materials, establish appraisal and statistical systems, and guide the structural adjustment of the material industry. (

7) The new energy automobile industry should speed up the research and development, popularization and application of key components and materials such as high-performance power batteries and motors, and form an industrialized system.
