Can potatoes be planted in June? How to plant them?

Under normal circumstances, potatoes cannot be planted in June. If it is Northeast, Gansu, Qinghai and other regions, planting is usually carried out from mid-to-late April to early May every year. In areas such as Shanxi, Shandong, Hebei, and Henan, spring potatoes are generally planted from February to March each year, and autumn potatoes are planted in August. In areas such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Hunan, spring potatoes are generally planted in January-February each year, and autumn potatoes are planted in September.

1. Can potatoes be planted in June?

Under normal circumstances, potatoes cannot be planted in June. The potato planting time in each region is as follows:

1. If it is one-season planting areas in the north and northwest such as Northeast China, Gansu, and Qinghai, planting is usually carried out from mid-to-late April to early May each year, and harvesting is done in the autumn. .

2. If you are in the Central Plains areas such as Shanxi, Shandong, Hebei, and Henan, spring potatoes are generally planted around February to March each year, harvested from June to July, and autumn potatoes are planted around August. Harvesting takes place from October to early November.

3. If you are in central and southern areas such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Hunan, spring potatoes are generally planted around January to February each year and harvested from May to June. Autumn potatoes are planted around September and December. Harvest left and right.

4. If it is Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan and other southern regions, planting is usually carried out from mid-to-late October to November every year, and harvesting is carried out from February to March of the following year.

2. Potato planting methods

1. Land preparation

(1) Choose a site with deep soil, loose and fertile soil, good drainage and irrigation performance, and have not been planted for two years. Potatoes are planted in plots.

(2) After the previous crop is harvested, 15cm of stubble is removed by rotary tillage, 15-20cm of front plowing, 35-40cm of deep loosening, and then leveled and made into ridges with a ridge bottom width of 80-90cm and a ridge height of 25cm.

(3) Combined with land preparation per acre, apply 2000-4000kg of decomposed farmyard manure and 30-50kg of chemical fertilizer (urea: diammonium sulfate: potassium sulfate = 3.4:1:3).

2. Sowing

(1) 15-20 days before sowing, take the seed potatoes out of the cellar and place them in a scattered light environment with a temperature of 13-15℃. Turn over every 2-3 days to allow the seed potatoes to see light evenly.

(2) When the buds of the seed potatoes grow to 0.5-1cm, cut them into pieces. There should be 1-2 healthy sprouts on each potato piece, and the weight should be about 35-50g.

(3) When the temperature of the soil layer at 10cm is stable above 10℃ for three consecutive days, sowing will be carried out. The amount of seed per mu of land is about 120-150kg.

(4) When the ridge spacing is 80-90cm, single row cultivation is adopted, the plant spacing is 15-20cm, and 4000-5000 plants per mu of land are retained. After sowing, cover with 10-15cm of soil.

3. Management

(1) Seedling stage (emergence to budding)

① When the seedlings grow to about 6cm, carry out the first cultivating Build up the soil (hoe reasonably deeply). After 10 days, carry out the second cultivating and soil building (reasonably deep hoeing). At the early stage of budding, the third cultivating and soil building (reasonable shallow hoeing) is carried out.

② If the soil fertility is good and the base fertilizer is sufficient, there is no need to topdress. If top dressing is required, it is usually done before the 6-leaf stage.

(2) Potato-bearing period (budding to flower drop)

① In the early stages of flower buds, remove excess flower buds in time to reduce nutrient consumption.

② The potato-bearing period is the time when the most water is needed. During this period, attention should be paid to avoiding drought and ensuring that the soil moisture content is maintained at about 70% of the field water capacity.

(3) Potato-bearing stage (flowers fall to tuber maturity)

During this period, the ability of potato roots to absorb nutrients and water decreases. In order to avoid premature aging, foliar spraying should be done once 0.5-1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution.
