Tai Lihua donated her first performance award. Avalokitesvara appeared at the closing ceremony of the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games. As the lead dancer, Tai Lihua perfectly explained the kindness and fraternity of Guanyin with a thousand hands and won deafening applause from the scene. In 2007, under the strong advocacy of Tai Lihua, the Disabled Art Troupe established the My Dream Harmony Fund, and deposited part of the team's income into the fund for social welfare undertakings and feedback to society. In 2008, the Fund donated 2.6 million yuan to the Wenchuan earthquake-stricken area and 654.38 million dollars to the United Nations Food Programme. During the Beijing Paralympic Games, Tai Lihua donated 6 million yuan worth of performance tickets to the society, giving them to the elderly, orphans, disabled people, international friends and other difficult groups who participated in the Paralympic Games free of charge.
