The origin of the name of Guanghua Law School
The name of Guanghua Law School originated from the joint establishment of Zhejiang University and Guanghua Education Foundation, which was later renamed.

With the approval of the Ministry of Education, on September 25th, 2006, Professor Yang Wei, President of Zhejiang University, signed an agreement with Guanghua Education Foundation and Mr. Yin Yanliang, Chairman of Runtai Group, the leader of Taiwan Province. Guanghua Education Foundation donated RMB 1 100 million to Zhejiang University to establish Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University. The two sides aim to build a law school with world-class standards.

Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University was formally established on April 20th, 2007. After the adjustment of disciplines, Guanghua Law School is a separate law department, and other political science and sociology disciplines are merged into other related colleges of the school. In the autumn of 2007, Guanghua Law School moved to Zhijiang Campus of Zhejiang University, which is a century-old campus covering an area of 670 mu.

Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University was founded in 1945. The first president, Mr. Li Haopei, is one of the representatives of modern international law in China and China's participation in international judicial practice, and is widely known.

When Li Haopei was in charge of the hospital, famous scholars gathered at home and abroad, and academic knowledge spread from far to near. Later, due to the adjustment of departments, the former Law School of Zhejiang University was dissolved, and after several twists and turns, the ideal of cultivating talents for building a society ruled by law never gave up. 1980, the former law department of Hangzhou University was established, and the Dafa context continued, and finally passed down from generation to generation, and teaching continued.

At present, the college has a first-class discipline doctor's degree authorization point (law), a first-class discipline master's degree authorization point (law) and a postdoctoral research mobile station, with 1 national key disciplines (constitutional law, administrative law) and two Zhejiang key disciplines (constitutional law, administrative law, civil and commercial law).

In 20 12, the college was selected into the national excellent legal talents education and training plan, and it is the first batch of applied and compound legal talents training bases and foreign-related legal talents training bases in China. 20 15 was selected as the "20 1 1 plan" judicial civilization collaborative innovation center.
