The meeting was presided over by Mei Hong, Chairman of the Academic Committee. Song Yonghua, President of Australian University and Director of State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things in Smart City, and Chen Yunxi, Chairman of Macau Science and Technology Development Foundation, delivered speeches at the meeting. Song Yonghua sincerely thanks the participating experts for their long-term support to universities and laboratories. The laboratory will seize the opportunity, deepen the direction of basic research, continue to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and land in Macao and Hengqin Guangdong-Macao deep cooperation zone.

Chen Yunxi thanked the members of the Committee for their guidance on the laboratory work, and eagerly looked forward to the future development of the laboratory. He said that the laboratory should continue to maintain interdisciplinary advantages, help solve the difficult problems in the development and construction of smart cities in Macau, be brave in exploring new mechanisms in Industry-University-Research, and form a think tank and academic brand of the University of Australia. It is expected that the laboratory will further expand its international influence and play an important role in the dual-cycle Macao node.

Zhou Wanhuan, a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things in Smart City, comprehensively reported the construction progress and scientific research achievements of the laboratory in the past year, pointed out that the laboratory successfully completed the established goals and tasks during the construction period, and successfully passed the acceptance evaluation, and introduced the future development plan and work focus. Members listened carefully and fully affirmed the comprehensive achievements of the laboratory in basic research, personnel training, achievement transformation, international cooperation and academic exchange, and suggested that the laboratory further grasp the major national demand orientation, fully tap the characteristics of universities and Macao's advantages, highly condense scientific research achievements, and continuously enhance its international influence.

Finally, Song Yonghua thanked the experts for their pertinent suggestions. Under the guidance and assistance of the Academic Committee, the laboratory will focus on cultivating scientific and technological professionals, actively support interdisciplinary research teams and academic leaders, and jointly promote technological innovation and transformation with the Smart City Research Center of Pearl River Research Institute to better serve the diversified development of Macao's science and technology industry and the construction of smart cities.
