Macau pigeon nest park-evolution
The original site of Dove Bird's Nest Park is the garden villa of Portuguese rich businessman Manuel Pereira, which was built in170s. It was leased to the Macao branch of the British East India Company and then sold to another Portuguese businessman, Marquez, as a residence. Marquis likes to keep white doves, so it is named because a large number of white doves live under the eaves and look like white doves' nests from a distance. Another favorite of Marquis is Portuguese poet Jia Shi Mei, so he put some objects related to the poet in the park.

According to legend, the poet completed a part of the famous Portuguese epic Soul of China in this cave. Every year on June 10, the Portuguese community in Macao will present flowers and recite "China, the Portuguese Soul" as a memorial (this ceremony is still maintained after the handover of Macao's political power, but the Portuguese national anthem is not played).

1885, the property was purchased by the Australian and Portuguese governments and became an open garden. Among them, the residential building was converted into Jia Museum on 1920. After 1989, Jia Museum was resold to the Oriental Foundation as the meeting place of the Oriental Foundation.
