Professor Chen Guoliang, Dean of the School of Software of China University of Science and Technology and Director of the National High Performance Computing Center (Hefei), has worked hard to climb the peak of science and technology for decades, trained a large number of outstanding talents and made important contributions to China's scientific and technological development and economic construction.
Chen Guoliang, academician of China Academy of Sciences and professor of China University of Science and Technology, was employed as an adjunct professor and academician of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. research results
In the mid-1990s, Professor Chen Guoliang conducted research on high-performance computing and its application, and took the lead in establishing the first national high-performance computing center in China, which promoted the development of this field in China. Developed the domestic commercial software "User Development Environment" of Dawning parallel machine with independent copyright, which made an important contribution to popularizing the application of domestic parallel machines. Since the establishment of the National High Performance Computing Center (Hefei) with Chen Guoliang as the chief scientist 10, it has undertaken more than 20 projects such as the National 863 Program and the National Natural Science Foundation, with a total funding of more than 40 million yuan. Professor Chen Guoliang applied the theory and method of high performance computing to flood control, pollution control and water environment management in Huaihe River Basin. Intelligent information and decision support system for disaster prevention and reduction in Anhui Province, a national 863 major project, was developed by him in cooperation with Huai Committee, and was responsible for flood control dispatching of nine reservoirs in the middle and upper reaches of Huaihe River during flood season. The intelligent dispatching system for flood control and pollution control in Huaihe River Basin aims at peak-clipping and peak-shifting dispatching, and organically combines meteorological numerical forecasting, hydrological information collection and analysis, basin confluence calculation with flood early warning and forecasting, and reservoir joint dispatching, which plays an important role in flood control dispatching decision-making in the basin. In the summer of 2003, the Huaihe River Basin suffered a serious flood disaster. Chen Guoliang led more than 0/0 teachers and students from China University of Science and Technology/KLOC to the first-line site to provide high-performance computing support for flood control dispatching decision-making. In order to ensure the accuracy of calculation parameters, he also went to Fang Qiu Lake, Xiba and other key flood control areas together with the technical personnel of Huaihe Water Conservancy Commission, and put forward the calculation scheme of flood evolution, which provided a scientific basis for flood control dispatching in this area.
In Chen Guoliang's eyes, teaching is always the first. For more than 30 years, he has been teaching the front line.
