The Origin of Jingchang River in Baofeng, Henan Province
There is a river in the north of Baofeng County, which flows from the northwest around the city to the southeast. This is the well-known Jingchang River. There is another legend about the name of Jingchanghe. According to legend, more than 1900 years ago, after Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Southern King was not peaceful, and Guangwu wanted to get rid of this thorn in his side and complete reunification. One day, Liu Xiu invited civil servants and military commanders to discuss military aircraft and prepare for war with the prince. The generals all know that the prince is difficult to deal with, and no one dares to lead the troops into battle after a long silence. Liu Xiu is very angry. At this point, Jia Fu, who lives in Jin Wu, took the initiative to come forward and asked to send troops to war. Liu Xiu turned anger into joy and said happily, "I'll take Jin Wu to rehabilitate the thief, so there's nothing to worry about." So Jia Fu took the order. The next day, he set out, stayed overnight and went for a walk. In a few days, he came to Yingchuan county, chose a place near the mountains and waters to camp, and then built a tucheng to prepare for the war. It is said that this is the origin of Baofeng City. Soon, the prince got the news and ordered his general, the tomb, to come and challenge. One day, the two sides met on a mountain in the northeast of the city, and the tomb fought with the Jia family. Jia Fu is very brave, and robbing the tomb is an extraordinary marksmanship. The two will fight one after another, from morning till noon, from the ridge to the river, regardless of the outcome. Passing 18-wheeler, Jia Fu was accidentally stabbed in the abdomen by the tomb, and his intestines flowed out. The tomb thought that Jia Fu was dead, so he reined in and went to find a place to rest. After Jia Fu was in a coma, he sobered up, cleaned his intestines in the river and put them back in his stomach. At this moment, I happened to meet a woman washing clothes by the river. The woman took out a needle and thread and sewed Jia Fu's stomach. Jia Fu mounted his horse again, looking for the tomb and fighting again. Jia Fu saw the tomb on the edge of a mound in the north of the city, so he took a sword and hacked it to death. Jia Fu died a few days after he returned to the city. Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of Guangdong Province, learned of this incident, personally went here to pay homage, buried Jia Fu in the southwest of the city, and built a temple in the northwest of the city, commonly known as Jia Fu Temple. In order to commemorate Jia Fu, people at that time called the section where he washed his intestines Jingchang River.
