Established in 1969, IFAW is one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the world. Its purpose is to improve the welfare of wild animals and companion animals by reducing commercial exploitation and wildlife trade, protecting animal habitats and rescuing animals in crisis and suffering, and actively promoting animal welfare and protection policies in which people and animals live in harmony.
Since 1996, attention has been paid to the cruelty of Asian black bears in China, and live bears have taken gall as medicine. Since then, the number of IFAW projects in China has been increasing, and it is dedicated to the welfare and protection of wild animals and domestic animals as well as companion animals (cats and dogs) all over China.
The work of the International Animal Welfare Foundation
Protect wildlife habitats. Wild animals, like humans, need a good ecological environment to reproduce and develop. The International Animal Welfare Foundation strives for as much living space and safety as possible for wild animals by taking direct and effective actions.
Save animals. The International Animal Welfare Foundation has been providing relief and help to animals in distress all over the world for many years. In China, people have gradually become familiar with the organizations that can provide the fastest and most effective help to animals. Save black bears and support the research of bear bile substitutes; China's rescue of raptor, a wild animal, is still in its infancy, and it is urgent to absorb mature foreign ideas and rescue experience.
