Unlike other insects, fleas don't come out in winter, but they are buried in the soil for the winter, and even some individuals can't survive the winter.

Because snow fleas pair up in groups as soon as they appear, the main foods are humus, lichens, fungi and so on. Some members even eat bacteria, small plants and animals, but it has no effect on humans.
Most of the time, they still live in the soil under the snow. The temperature rises slightly, that is, a few degrees Celsius below zero in spring and summer, which is the favorite temperature of snow fleas. They will climb to the snow surface along the snow seam and gather in groups, reaching tens of thousands per square meter at most. Generally, their appearance means that spring is coming, the temperature is rising and the sun is shining, which is the favorite temperature environment for snow fleas.
