Zhongkai College of Agricultural Engineering, referred to as Zhongkai, was founded in 1927. It is named after the great patriot and modern democratic revolutionary Mr. Liao Zhongkai. In order to gain support from all walks of life in running schools and promote school development, in April 1987, according to the proposal of Vice President Wang Zhen and with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the school board of directors was established. As early as 1997, it was rated as a qualified school for undergraduate teaching level assessment by the Ministry of Education. In 2009, it was rated as an excellent school for undergraduate teaching level assessment by the Ministry of Education.
