Zhuo Xiren, male, was born in February 1931 in Xiamen, Fujian.

A polymer chemist, he is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor in the School of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences of Wuhan University.

In 1997, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He won the third prize of the National Science and Technology Invention Award in 1983, and the fourth and third prize of the National Natural Science Award in 1991 and 1999 respectively.
