1997- 1999 used to be a postdoctoral researcher at the MacArthur Foundation of the American Society for Social Sciences, and was stationed at the Fei Zhengqing Center for East Asian Studies of Harvard University. In 2002-2003, he served as Asia policy researcher at the Wilson Center in the United States. At present, he is the editorial board member of China's Research on International History of the Cold War and Series of International History of the Cold War.
