The Wu Jieping Medical Innovation Award mainly rewards outstanding young and middle-aged medical workers under 59 who have made innovative achievements in the fields of medicine and pharmaceutical research and application. It is planned to award 4-6 winners every year.

By the end of 20021,among the winners of previous Wu Jieping Medical Innovation Awards, 7 were elected as academicians of China Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering respectively. So his gold content is still very high.
