In 1902, Sanjiang Normal School was founded.

In 1921, National Southeast University was established on the basis of Nanjing Higher Normal School, with the Department of Engineering under it. Later, the engineering department went through historical periods such as National Fourth Sun Yat-sen University College of Engineering, National Central University College of Engineering, and National Nanjing University College of Engineering.

In 1952, with the original School of Engineering of Nanjing University as the main body, it was merged into relevant departments of Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Jinling University and other schools, and Nanjing Institute of Technology was established on the original site of the Central University headquarters.

In May 1988, the school was renamed Southeast University; in April 2000, the original Southeast University, Nanjing Railway Medical College, and Nanjing Communications College merged, and Nanjing Geology School was merged to form a new Southeast University.

Campus introduction: After more than a hundred years of entrepreneurial development, Southeast University has now become a comprehensive university with engineering as its characteristic and coordinated development of science, engineering, medicine, liberal arts, management, arts and other disciplines.
