Will a securities company be cancelled by itself if it does not use it for a long time after opening an account?
There is no transaction in the account in the last three years, there is no stock in the account, and the fund in the account is less than 100. It will be turned into a dormant account and will be centrally managed by securities companies. It must be activated by the securities company before it can be used. For customers who still want to use these accounts, investors can apply to the securities company with their valid identity documents to check whether their A-share accounts are put into another stock.

If you want to resume dormant accounts, investors need to bring all three certificates (ID card, shareholder card and fund account card) to the securities company to apply for activation. Generally, it can be activated on the same day and used normally the next day. If you choose not to activate, you can declare cancellation of dormant A-share account and apply for opening a new A-share account. There is no account opening fee for new accounts.

It is reported that after 2008, customers may need to go to Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges to activate dormant accounts.
