The special fund project for basic research of scientific instruments supports the innovative development or improvement of important scientific instruments urgently needed in the frontier research of basic science, and gives priority to the research of scientific instruments that play an important role in promoting basic research and the research of basic scientific problems in the development of innovative scientific instruments.

The applicant shall meet the following conditions:

(1) Experience in undertaking basic research projects;

Scientific and technical personnel engaged in research and postgraduate degree in postdoctoral workstations and listed in the second paragraph of Article 10 of the Regulations are not applicable.

In principle, the funding intensity does not exceed 3 million yuan/item, and the funding period is generally 4 years.

Application and submission

(1) To apply for this type of project, the application form of National Natural Science Foundation should be used, with "special fund project" as the funding category and "special fund for basic research of scientific instruments" as the sub-category; Write an application in accordance with the requirements of the Text Outline of the Special Fund Project for Basic Research of Scientific Instruments, and apply through the supporting unit.

(2) The scale of funding is determined according to the funding plan of the year.
