After this procedure, the balance of the medical insurance card will be transferred to the medical insurance card in different places.

Failure to apply for a social security card has no effect on the personal account of the medical insurance card. Whether it is an old medical insurance card or a new social security card, there is only one account associated with the two cards, which will not affect the transfer business.

Medical insurance transfer process:

First of all, I will go through the cancellation procedures of medical insurance relationship in the original insured place, and then I will apply to the Municipal Social Security Center for the transfer of medical insurance relationship, which will be issued by the transfer agency.

"Insured (combined) card" and the original insured medical insurance payment voucher, fill in the "application form for the transfer of medical insurance relationship in XX province" and go through the formalities for the transfer of medical insurance relationship and personal account at the municipal social security fund settlement center.

Pay attention to two points when handling medical insurance transfer procedures:

(2) When handling the transfer of medical insurance relationship, the three medical insurance relationships can be freely converted. The three medical insurance relationships refer to the basic medical insurance for urban workers, the basic medical insurance for urban residents and the new rural cooperative medical system.

At present, due to the differences in system and management in different areas, it is difficult for migrant workers and retirees from different places to continue the social insurance relationship, which hinders the free flow of labor and social and economic development, and makes it inconvenient for insured people to enjoy insurance benefits, especially the cross-regional connection of basic old-age insurance, which leads to the low enthusiasm of workers to participate in insurance, and even a large number of migrant workers surrender in some places.

In terms of medical insurance transfer, in view of the difficulty in reimbursement of medical expenses in different places, which affects the insured's enjoyment of basic medical insurance benefits, the Social Security Law stipulates that the relevant social insurance administrative departments and health administrative departments should establish a settlement system for medical expenses in different places to ensure the insured's enjoyment of basic medical insurance benefits through the cooperation mechanism in different places. However, in order to fully guarantee medical insurance in different places, it must be combined with commercial medical insurance. Commercial medical insurance has certain flexibility and comprehensive protection, and has become a good supplement to social medical insurance.

In order to ensure smooth and simple information transmission, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security will cooperate with the Ministry of Health to design a unified certificate of basic medical insurance for employees of urban enterprises or new rural cooperative medical insurance. The ID number is the unique identification code of the insured. When the medical insurance relationship is transferred, the insured only needs to show it to the social security agency, and the insured information can be updated in time.
