There are many cross-border e-commerce platforms. The third-party cross-border e-commerce platforms I know include amazon, ebay, aliexpress, wish, DHgate.com, Shopee, and lazada. We have opened stores on the first five platforms, but not on Shopee or Lazada.
Let’s talk about the funds required by each platform one by one: amazon
Professional sellers plan store rent on several major amazon sites:
US$39.99 on the US site Monthly
European station 25 pounds per month
Japanese station 4,900 yen per month
The cost of registering an international trademark is about 3,000 yuan
2. eBay allows you to open a store for free, but the number of listings you can publish is limited. Novice individual sellers can only publish 5 free listings at the beginning. Corporate sellers can currently publish 200 fixed price or auction price listings for free. eBay supports the registration of individual or corporate sellers; when ordering a store, there are five different types of stores, and you can order a whole The monthly ordering fee for the annual store
3. Most categories of aliexpress require a deposit of 10,000 yuan to open. The deposit is RMB 50,000 for real-person hair and RMB 30,000 for mobile phones and e-cigarettes. Currently, you can only register as a company or individual business owner;
4.wish can initially open a store for free as an individual. Now it seems that only enterprises can open stores. Starting from 0:00 on October 1, 2018 (UTC), newly registered WISH stores must pay a prepaid store registration fee of US$2,000. The customer above was so bad at returning the goods that we had stopped doing it a long time ago.
5. Dhagte Dunhuang allows individuals and businesses to open a store for free, and can also open paid memberships.
6. Shopee can open a store for free
7. Lazada can open a store for free
The required start-up capital can be roughly divided into the following expenses
1. Company registration and tax filing fees. If there is a ready-made company to open a store, the company registration fee can be ignored. If there is no existing company, a new company must be registered. As far as I know, you can now register a company in Shenzhen for 0 yuan and get a free official seal. One year for a small-scale company includes accounting, tax filing, annual industrial and commercial inspection, annual tax report, free social security, invoicing, and an account book every month, which costs about 2,000 yuan per year.
2. Network fees. The 300M China Telecom optical fiber we use costs 139 yuan per month, totaling 1,668 yuan per year. Network fees are related to the selected network company and configuration.
3. The cost of office supplies, such as desks, computers, printers, etc. Probably a few thousand dollars.
4. Whether to rent an office space or not, the cost must also be taken into consideration if there is any.
5. Do you hire employees? If you are an individual or a couple registering a company to open a store, this fee can be ignored.
6. The basic platform fees have been mentioned before. Specifically, it depends on which platform, which category, and which site.
7. Purchase of goods and logistics freight. This has to do with the way it operates. It depends on whether it is self-shipping or FBA or overseas warehouse.
How much start-up capital is needed for cross-border e-commerce?
1. The start-up capital of cross-border e-commerce is related to the selected platform, operation method, whether to hire employees, operation location, etc. It will cost at least several thousand yuan, but may range from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands or even millions. Of course, a few thousand dollars is just a small expense.
2. The essence of e-commerce is that the traffic and conversion of goods form orders. Nowadays, it is increasingly difficult to obtain orders with free traffic. In many cases, orders can only be brought in through paid advertising. A former colleague of mine worked as an operator for a cross-border e-commerce company in Shenzhen. He spent $4,000 on advertising every day and hundreds of thousands of dollars on CPC ads a month. Also add Amazon DSP advertising for tens of thousands of dollars. Did you see that the monthly advertising fees for big sales are hundreds of thousands or millions? Cross-border e-commerce is basically built by spending money on advertising. Therefore, the more capital you have to start cross-border e-commerce, the better!
