What is an energy-saving lamp
Energy-saving lamp is a popular lighting product now, which refers to the lighting equipment that combines fluorescent lamp and ballast. Energy-saving lamps have the characteristics of obvious energy-saving effect, long service life, no stroboscopic effect, no noise, soft light and wide working voltage range, so they are increasingly welcomed by consumers.

How to distinguish the advantages and disadvantages of energy-saving lamps?

1, packaging and trademark

The state requires energy-saving lamp products to be marked with the following contents on the outer packaging: source standard, rated voltage, voltage range, rated power and rated frequency. Mark the lamp current and other supplementary instructions related to safe use on the lamp, package or instruction manual. Generally speaking, the trademark printing of high-quality products has a good texture. The font is clear, not easy to fall off, wiped with a soft wet cloth, and the logo is clear and legible, not easy to erase, with the manufacturer's trademark and related certification marks. The printing quality of fake and shoddy products is poor, the fonts are fuzzy and easy to erase, and there are no manufacturer's trademarks and related certification marks.

2, plastic quality

The plastic shell of energy-saving lamps must be made of zero-resistance engineering plastic, which has the advantages of heat resistance, good electrical insulation, high hardness, good rigidity, crack resistance, easy printing and difficult discoloration. The disadvantage is that the cost is slightly more expensive. Ordinary plastics are prohibited in the production of energy-saving lamps. Fake and shoddy products often use middle and low-grade plastics, and their heat resistance and flame retardancy do not meet the standard requirements. They are fragile, easy to break, easy to turn yellow and fade, and have potential safety hazards.

3, tube appearance

By comparing several lamps together, it is found that most of them are mass-produced products with good consistency in appearance and size and guaranteed quality. At the same time, there should be no cracks and looseness in the appearance of the lamp tube, and there should be no traces of being pried at the seal. During installation or disassembly, the lamp holder should not be loose or inclined.

4. Lamp fluorescent powder

High-quality products coated with rare earth tricolor phosphors have high luminous efficiency, high color rendering index, good thermal stability, light attenuation caused by 185mm ultraviolet rays and long service life. The service time of a high-quality energy-saving lamp is equivalent to the sum of 3-8 inferior energy-saving lamps, but the price is more expensive. Fake and shoddy products coated with halogen powder or mixed powder of rare earth tricolor phosphor mixed with halogen powder have low luminous efficiency of about 30% compared with rare earth tricolor phosphor, low color rendering index, poor thermal stability, serious light decay and short service life, and are particularly unsuitable for thin tube fluorescent lamps.

The identification method is as follows: let the light of energy-saving lamps shine on the palm of your hand. If the palm looks ruddy and bloody, it is a tricolor energy-saving lamp. If it looks blue and bloodless, it is halogen powder energy-saving lamp. In addition, if it takes a few minutes to reach the normal brightness, bright and soft, it is a three-color energy-saving lamp. If once electrified, the brightness reaches the peak, the brightness is low, the light color is blue, and it looks pale and weak, it is a halogen lamp.

5, electronic ballast

Through reasonable circuit design and high-quality electronic components, high-quality energy-saving lamps are produced. When working, they have low calorific value, high power factor, low harmonic content, basically no electromagnetic interference to electrical equipment, high design working frequency, basically reaching the level of no strobe source, and protecting people's vision and health. In order to save production cost, fake and inferior products are produced by outsourcing inferior electronic ballasts. The quality cannot be guaranteed, and the failure rate is high, which may seriously lead to safety problems such as fire.

6. Working temperature

The temperature of energy-saving lamps should be very low under normal working conditions. Otherwise, the life of energy-saving lamps is very short. The working temperature of energy-saving lamps is high. When lighting, the two ends of the lamp tube are black, and the filament is red or shiny, indicating that there are quality problems in energy-saving lamps.

7. Starting performance

If you have a voltage regulator at the time of purchase, you can first adjust the voltage regulator to 150V or the minimum starting voltage value in the manual under the condition of power failure, install a naturally placed energy-saving lamp, keep your hands and body away from the lamp, and turn on the power supply, preferably at one time. The starting of energy-saving lamps has two characteristics: first, the higher the temperature, the easier it is to start, and second, it is easy to start under the condition of human body induction. In addition, it is worth mentioning that many energy-saving lamps light up as soon as they are turned on, which is not good for the life of light bulbs. High-quality energy-saving lamps are equipped with filament preheating circuits, and there should be a delay time of about 0.4 seconds after starting.
