What is the procedure for handling Danish trademarks?
Danish trademark registration process

1. Submit the application

The applicant shall prepare the trademark application documents, including: the name and address of the applicant, the trademark graphic, the list of goods and services of the trademark to be registered, the statement that the trademark to be registered has been used or intended to be used, and the expenses required for applying for the trademark. Submit the prepared materials to the Danish Patent and Trademark Office.

2. Trademark review

After the applicant submits an application for trademark registration, the Danish Patent and Trademark Office will examine whether the application meets the requirements of the trademark application, and whether it provides the information and address of the applicant or unit, a copy of the logo and a list of goods or services. For trademarks that have passed the examination, the application date and application number will be granted, and for trademarks that have not passed the examination, the applicant needs to make changes and modifications. And submit the application again. Trademarks that pass formal examination will enter substantive examination. If the Danish Patent and Trademark Office thinks that the applicant's description of the goods and/or services is unclear, it will issue an examination opinion to the applicant, asking the applicant to give a reply within the prescribed time limit. If no reply is made within the time limit, the trademark application will be rejected.

3. Trademark announcement

The trademark documents that have passed the examination will be published in the official trademark announcement, and anyone can object to the trademark documents within 2 months after the application for trademark registration is made public.

4. Registration and publication

The Danish Patent and Trademark Office will register and publish the trademark and issue a trademark registration certificate when applying for a trademark document that meets the requirements of the Trademark Law and has no objection.
