How long does it take to apply for foreign trademark?
Several specific requirements for the application: first, the applicant for international registration of trademarks must have the same name as the trademark registrant registered by the state or initially approved; Second, the goods declared in the application shall not exceed the scope of goods registered and initially approved by the state; Third, the application must be in French; Fourth, all application forms should be filled out with typewriters. Pay the registration fee and handling fee as required. When applying for international registration of trademarks, Chinese trademark applicants must pay the basic registration fee to the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and if necessary, they must also pay additional registration fees, supplementary registration fees or other prescribed fees. The registration fee should be paid to the International Bureau in Swiss francs or US dollars or equivalent to the standard Hong Kong dollars, plus the handling fee. Submit it to the Trademark Office by bank transfer or remittance in China, or directly submit it to the Trademark Office for transfer to the International Bureau. The handling fee is the fee charged by the State Trademark Office in addition to the above fees. The applicant shall also pay the registration fee and handling fee to the Trademark Office. Trademark procedure: inquiry-application-acceptance-examination-announcement of preliminary examination and approval-(no objection for 3 months)-issuance. At present, it takes about 15- 18 months from application to obtaining the certificate.
