The story of Didi Taxi - Preface

I grew up living in a community in Xuhui District, Shanghai, similar to a cadre compound in Beijing.

Most people in this community have serious jobs. At least they have enough food and clothing.

And I grew up without any worries. The diapers I was born in were brought by my grandfather from the United States. When I was a child, my mother was not allowed to give me white sugar. She used honey instead for sweet things. I grew up drinking Coke, Yakult, and eating chocolate. The ones I played with in my hands were given by adults. With a coupon worth 1 dime, the family where I was born has a color TV set and the only private phone in the community. At that time, in addition to public phones in the entire community, my home had a telephone, and the phone used an extension. Whenever my distant relatives call the public phone, the old lady in charge of the phone will rudely tell them what is the phone number at their home and you can call it, but we won’t call them.

In this way, I grew up fearlessly under the protection of my family.

It looks like "why not eat minced meat".

I have never seen anyone wearing cloth shoes since I was a child, so I was very surprised to see people in Shanghai wearing cloth shoes after work. I also lamented that my colleague’s family was vegetarian. At the age of 24, I know very little about society.

Before I was 29 years old, I had never traveled alone, either with my family or classmates.

It was only after four years of working as a medical team in Africa that I became completely independent.

After I returned to China, my mother passed away and my father was extremely healthy and independent. He liked the excitement and did not like living in Shanghai. At that time, I bought a house in Shenzhen, which was very suitable for my father and my grandma in Hong Kong. Come and live through the customs.

As I am accustomed to taking cars abroad, I am no longer accustomed to any public transportation. The rampant use of electric vehicles on the roads in 2013 even made me so clumsy that I no longer know how to cross the road.

So taking a taxi to work became my only choice.

Taking a taxi was my only option at the time, but the old Shanghai plug driver didn’t care about any taking a taxi. Fortunately, taxi-hailing software soon appeared. From Kuaiche to Uber, to Didi Taxi, which finally dominated the world, I have experienced the development of the entire taxi-hailing history.

In the end Didi became my main mode of travel to this day.

My experience is that it is convenient and affordable. I have to say that Didi’s service is also very good. As long as you make a normal complaint, you will almost always be treated correctly.

When taking Didi taxis, I have a habit of chatting with the driver as soon as I get in the car. After all, I am also very lonely. As an experienced co-pilot driver, one thing is that I like the wide field of vision of the co-pilot, and the other is that I like to chat with drivers from all over the world as soon as I get in the car, and the co-pilot is the most suitable position for chatting.

So there are these stories.
