Food trademark classification

Food trademarks are divided into the following categories:

1. Processed food, i.e. Class 29: processed meat, fish, poultry and game, gravy, pickled food , frozen, dried and cooked fruits and vegetables, jellies, jams, preserves, eggs, milk and dairy products, edible oils and greases;

2. Convenience foods, fast-moving consumer goods, that is, the 30th Categories: Coffee, tea, cocoa, sugar, rice, edible starch, sago, coffee substitutes, flour and cereal products, bread, pastries and confectionery, iced foods, honey, syrup, fresh yeast, baking powder, salt, mustard , vinegar, sauce (condiments), seasoning spices, drinking ice;

3. Unprocessed agricultural products, namely Class 31: agricultural, horticultural, forestry products and products not included in other categories Cereals, live animals, fresh fruits and vegetables, seeds, grasses and flowers, animal feed, malt.

Food trademarks are actually food brands. It is a mark used by food production companies exclusively on the food produced by the company. Its forms include Chinese character trademarks, English trademarks, graphic trademarks, and combination trademarks that combine the above elements. Trademarks are also a guarantee of product quality, and production companies must be responsible for the quality of food using trademarks. Therefore, the manufacturing enterprise should apply for registration of its trademark and enjoy the exclusive right to the trademark within the statutory period. Other producers and sellers are not allowed to use or counterfeit the trademark without the permission of the trademark registrant. Violators shall be held legally responsible.

Legal basis: Article 22 of the "Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China"

Applicants for trademark registration shall fill in the categories of goods for which the trademark is used according to the prescribed commodity classification table. and product name, submit an application for registration. A trademark registration applicant can apply to register the same trademark for multiple categories of goods through one application. Trademark registration applications and other relevant documents may be submitted in writing or by data message.
