Let's talk about its trademark first
The trademark pattern is six stars, and the prototype is six stars of the Pleiades cluster, which is called "Pleiades" in the west, "Subaru" in Japanese and "Subaru" in Chinese.
Subaru also means "United" in Japanese, and Fuji Heavy Industries is formed by the reorganization of five companies (namely, Fuji Industry (a small motorcycle manufacturer), Fuji Jjidosha (mainly engaged in the manufacture and development of p- 1 cars for passenger cars), Omiya Fuji Industry (an engine manufacturer) and Utsunomiya Xiali (a vehicle manufacturer).
Let's talk about its history first:
After World War II, the Japanese government issued the call of "building a car with a top speed of100km, four passengers and continuous driving for more than 30km". In response to this call, Fuji Heavy Industries produced SUBARU360 at 1958. The car was widely welcomed by the market as soon as it came out, which laid the unique position of Fuji Heavy Industries in the automotive field in the future.
The main events in its development are:
1March, 958, Subaru 360 went on the market, marking the beginning of Subaru.
1961February, Subaru samba went on the market, marking Subaru becoming a large light vehicle manufacturer;
1000 was launched in may, 1966, and the front wheel drive system of horizontally opposed horizontal engine was adopted.
1In August, 1969, Subaru R-2 went on the market, replacing Subaru 360, marking that Subaru began to produce mini-cars.
1971June, Subaru LEONE went public, marking the beginning of Subaru's production of four-wheel drive.
1In July, 972, Subaru REX was put on the market instead of R-2, which fully reflected "excellent handling, driving balance, ride comfort and fuel economy";
1In August, 977, Subaru BRAT, a recreational vehicle (RV), was introduced to the North American market, which was well received in North America.
1983 10, Subaru Domingo went public, marking the beginning of Subaru's production of single-cabin station wagons;
1984, announcing the development of the world's first electronic continuously variable transmission;
1February, 984, Subaru JUSTY went public;
1In February, 1985, Subaru XT was listed in the American market, with streamlined design and the drag coefficient reached the lowest value in the world (0.29 CD) at that time;
1In June, 985, XT went on the market in Japan and changed its name to ALCYONE (Japanese name for the brightest star in the Pleiades);
1987, JUSTY installed an automatic transmission system and launched the world's first electronic continuously variable transmission car, which is Subaru Justy;
1February, 1989, Subaru LEGCY went public, marking the beginning of Subaru's involvement in two-liter cars.
1991July, Subaru SVX was listed in the United States, and in September of the same year, it was listed in Japan, replacing XT. This is a luxurious and efficient single-row double-door box car;
1992, Subaru VIVIO went on the market to replace Rex; ;
1992 1 1 month, Subaru impreza went on the market;
1995, Subaru won the world championship of WRC manufacturer group and driver group;
1February, 997, Subaru forester went public;
1998, the third generation LEGCY went on the market;
In 2002, Subaru BAJA went public;
……。
Let's talk about Subaru's technology:
There are two most famous:
1, AWD (full-time four-wheel drive)
The world's first full-time four-wheel drive system was installed on commercial vehicles by Fuji Heavy Industries. This system and the horizontally opposed engine of this factory can achieve a nearly perfect weight balance effect on the car body. Coupled with lsd central anti-skid differential, when four wheels slip due to different speeds, it can automatically adjust to prevent slipping and maintain complete tire grip. With the cooperation of low center of gravity engine and four-wheel drive, the dynamic performance is more stable than that of ordinary cars, and it can be called arbitrary at high speed, rainy day and cornering in sand.
2.BOXTER (horizontally opposed engine)
One of the characteristics is that the lateral vibration generated by it can be easily absorbed by the bracket, which can effectively reduce the center of gravity of the heavier engine of the whole vehicle and make it easier for the whole vehicle to achieve overall balance with reset timing. The reason why not many people dare to adopt such a good technology is because it requires very high design and production technology of various parts of the engine. Subaru's Legacy, Leopard and Forester all use this engine. Apart from Fuji Heavy Industries, only Porsche has similar technology.
General Motors once owned a 20% stake in Subaru, which was sold in 2005 due to the financial crisis. At present, Toyota owns 8.7% of the shares and an unknown bank owns 1% of the shares.
