"Rongtaihe Shaofang" was built in Maotai Village, Guizhou Province (today's Maotai Town) in 1879 (the fifth year of Guangxu). It was later renamed "Ronghe Shaofang" and has existed for a long time. A long-established shochu brewery with a history of more than 130 years. In 1915, "Ronghe Shaofang" was selected by the then Beiyang government to participate in the Panama International Exposition and won the gold medal. In 2012, Moutai Distillery took Ronghe Shaofang to court on the grounds of trademark infringement. In early November 2012, the case was heard in Fengtai District, Beijing.
