If you want to learn Xun, what should beginners pay attention to when buying Xun?

Four misunderstandings that you need to pay attention to when purchasing a xun

First, one of the misunderstandings: Craft xun is just a toy xun

Xun is a musical instrument, and its primary value is its use. Come to play. "The tone must be accurate" is the minimum requirement for it to become a musical instrument. Musical instruments cannot be priced based on “accuracy or imprecision of the tone”. In terms of music attributes, the saying "you get what you pay for" doesn't apply at all. A musical instrument with a price tag of 50 yuan, a musical instrument with a price tag of 500 yuan, and a musical instrument with a price tag of 5,000 yuan should all go through the same calibration and tuning procedures. "No one can see the cultivation, but God knows the intention." "Although the preparation is complicated, we dare not save labor." Although the prices are different, their musical properties are exactly the same, their pitch is accurate and their timbre is consistent. Just because a 50-yuan xun is cheap does not mean that the sound will be inaccurate, the timbre is poor, and the sensitivity and tension are poor; just because a 5,000-yuan xun is expensive, the sound will be accurate, the timbre will be good, and the sensitivity and tension will be better.

However, Xun also has appreciation value. It is a comprehensive work of art integrating music, painting, sculpture, shape, color and decoration. This kind of xun is a craft xun. The craft xun is the highest quality xun. It has both musical instrument performance value and visual image appreciation value. It is a comprehensive work of art that integrates music, painting, sculpture, shape, color and decoration. There is a price difference between xuns priced at 50 yuan, 500 yuan, and 5,000 yuan. The price difference is not in the pitch, but in the processing of the visual image, the collection and aesthetic value, and the price of hiring famous artists to paint, hiring masters to sculpt, and use. Imported materials and other decorations that have nothing to do with music.

The toy xun only has the appearance of a xun, but does not have the properties that a musical instrument should have - pitch. Most of them are crudely made and can only be used as ornamental gadgets.

Second, misunderstanding 2: The tuning method of xun is the same as that of flute.

Tube tone setting is the basic tuning method of Xun. The tuning of the tube sound is to set the tone based on the actual pitch of the xun tube sound. If the actual pitch of the tube sound is C, it is called a C-tuned xun (the flute's tuning rules call it an F-tuned xun); if the actual pitch of the tube sound is D, it is called a D-tuned xun (the flute's tuning rules call it a G-tuned xun). Tune Xun).

There are two reasons why the barrel tone is used to set the tone:

1. The fingering arrangement of xun is not uniform, and the fingering methods vary from region to region and manufacturer. The method of setting the tune of the flute is based on the unified fingering. The flute is a mature instrument, and the fingering arrangement is standardized and unified. If the tone of the flute is bass 5, the third hole must be 1, which will not cause misunderstanding. But the flute tuning method is not suitable for xun tuning. For Xun, if the tube sound is bass 5, the opening and closing combination of which holes is 1, which is not uniform. Although the fingering of 1 is not uniform, the fingering of the barrel tone is unified. Press and hold it all, which provides convenience for setting the tone of the barrel tone.

2. The tuning of the tube sound is consistent with the fact that the Xun sound is relatively low. For example, if the actual pitch of the tube sound is D, according to the xun tube tone setting method, it is a xun in the key of D. According to the flute tuning method, it is the Xun in the key of G. In this way, a problem arises. We know that the G-key flute is a bangdi and a high-pitched flute. Is the Xun in G key according to the flute tuning method a high-pitched Xun? No. According to the flute tuning method, the G key Xun is a bass Xun.

Third, misunderstanding No. 3: Beginners should first choose the left-handed xun.

The bass of most musical instruments is controlled by the right hand. Western flutes are all right-handed flutes, and left-handed flutes are not produced at all. A left-handed person plays the flute and holds it in his right hand.

For beginners of xun, if they are not left-handed, it is best to start with the right-handed xun, which is in line with the physiological characteristics of most people. Because whether it is an 8-hole xun from bass 5 to alto 6, an 8-hole xun from bass 5 to treble 1, or a 10-hole xun from bass 5 to treble 2, they are all flute fingerings. If you learn the flute again in the future, you can get twice the result with half the effort.

Fourth, Misunderstanding No. 4: The 10-hole Xun fingering method and the 8-hole Xun fingering method are not compatible.

Scientific and reasonable fingering arrangement should be evolved based on mature flute fingering. This unified design concept makes the fingering arrangement of 8, 9, and 10 Kong Xun internally consistent and coherent.

The fingering system is designed reasonably and scientifically, and the 10-hole Xun fingering and the 8-hole Xun fingering are compatible. If you learn the 8-hole Xun fingering, you can master the 9 and 10-hole fingering without a teacher. On the contrary, first learn the 10-hole Xun, and you can master the fingering method of 8 and 9-hole Xun without a teacher.

If the design of the fingering system is unreasonable and unscientific, the 10-hole Xun and 8-hole Xun fingering methods are not compatible. After learning 10 holes, it will be awkward to play 8 holes again. On the contrary, it will be awkward to play 10 holes again after learning 8 holes.

The 8-hole Xun can be expanded to a 9-hole Xun or 10-hole Xun. A 9-hole or 10-hole Xun can also be restored to an 8-hole Xun. An additional hole is opened below the first hole of the 8-hole Xun to become a 9-hole Xun. If this new opening is always open, it is actually an 8-hole xun with a tube tone of 2.

Add one hole below the first hole and the fourth hole of the 8-hole Xun to form a 10-hole Xun. If these two new openings are kept open, it is actually an 8-hole xun. The reason why these two holes are designed horizontally under the original 8-hole Xun sound hole is based on the following three considerations:

1. In order to be compatible with the original fingering of the 8-hole Xun. If you don't press these two holes with your two little fingers and keep it open, it will be an 8-hole xun. The original fingering of the 8-hole xun has been retained and has not been disrupted. The index finger, middle finger, and ring finger still press the sound holes, and the little finger holds the bottom to stabilize the xun. In this way, there is no need to re-familiarize yourself with fingering when changing from 10 holes to 8 holes.

If the two newly opened holes are placed on top of the original 8-hole sound hole, if you keep pressing it, it will actually be an 8-hole sound hole, but in this way, not only will the two most flexible The index finger was occupied, and the fingers pressing the hole also changed, becoming the middle finger, ring finger and little finger. In this case, if you change from 10 holes to 8 holes, you still need to get familiar with the fingering again.

2. Press the small hole with your little finger to accuse the bass. The first hole with a low value of 6 (○●) and the second hole with a low value of 7 (●○) both belong to the bass. The sound hole of the bass is smaller, and the belly of the little finger is not big, so the two bass holes for the little finger are just right.

3. Make full use of the flexibility of the little finger. When playing low 6767 or low 7171, the two little fingers should move flexibly. If the design is vertical, the ring finger will be used, and the flexibility of the ring finger needs to be exercised.
