The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a stakeholder-owned system whose purpose is to promote responsible global forest management. It provides standard setting, trademark guarantee, certification services and market access for companies and organizations interested in forest management.
The main tasks of FSC are: to evaluate, authorize and supervise certification bodies and provide guidance and services for formulating national and regional certification standards; Improve the ability of national forest certification and sustainable forest management through education, training and demonstration and extension activities.
