First of all, what is the purpose of studying?
Too many children now basically stay at home, relying on mobile phones and electronic products to perceive the outside world.
Studying is to use the existing local natural conditions to create a different atmosphere for children. It can be humanistic, natural, historical, and other multi-dimensional perspectives to help children have diversified understandings. and understand the world.
Secondly, is studying just for fun?
Studying is not just for fun, nor is it purely purposeful, like a tour guide introducing something to children in an indoctrinating way.
In this process, artificial settings are required, such as based on the child's psychological characteristics, behavioral characteristics, things of interest at this stage, and then creative integration based on studying all local characteristics and culture.
By setting some more challenging, meaningful, and research-based tasks, let the children explore, complete, and experience. In the process, the children gain rich perceptions and accumulation of knowledge. .
For example, we took the children to study Hakka culture. We went to Liancheng County, Longyan, Fujian, and learned about the production and printing of Hakka rice paper. Because the traditional printing method is still preserved, the children saw it with their own eyes. And participate in a simple experience that is completely different from the experiences you read about in books.
Everything from materials, processes, craftsmanship, finished products, etc. is a cultural experience.
Next, we also learned about the production of the local folk custom dragon tour. This is called a traditional folk custom activity of the Han nationality and has been awarded the Guinness Book of Records.
It is different from our common folk dragons. The body of the dragon is two meters long, and the head is even bigger. It requires many strong men to pull it at the same time.
What is the significance of such a folk activity that originated in the Ming Dynasty? What is its production process? What's the story behind it? Why can it still be preserved today?
For children, these are not only a continuation of cultural inheritance, but also an understanding and understanding of the essence of China’s vast Chinese culture.
Even if these things are mentioned in the book, at most they are pictures and words that fleetingly disappear in the minds of children, and only when the children can feel and experience them when they grow up. The master explains and understands step by step. This process of study is the most important thing.
So, is study important?
I think it is a supplement to another learning method, which can help children understand the world in a more diverse way and expand their horizons.
So from this perspective, conditional research is still necessary.
However, it needs to be added that some studies are just a quick tour with the title of "research", so this kind of study does not have much meaning.
We say that meaningful study must have a curriculum design, organizational significance in it, someone has set it carefully, and it is integrated and created based on the local resource advantages. Only such study is worthy of children. Let's feel it.
In addition, the research market at home and abroad is becoming less and less. Many non-material craftsmen are actively passing on China’s material culture, so to a certain extent, it also makes children’s research more interesting. Makes sense.
This is caused by market trends and is also the inevitability of cultural development.
The above are some of my personal opinions, I hope they are helpful to you
