1. Blended with old bleached cotton. Old and tattered cotton (so-called ancient cotton) is bleached and mixed into normal cotton to resemble the real thing. It can be identified from the following three aspects: a. Color, the white of normal cotton is natural, and the white of bleached old cotton is fake; b. Gloss, there is a waxy layer on the surface of normal cotton fibers with natural luster, while bleached old cotton has no luster; c. Elasticity , normal cotton has good elasticity, while bleached old cotton has poor elasticity. 2. Blended with recycled cotton. Regenerated cotton is the leftovers and cotton cloth scraps from cotton spinning mills. It is cotton that has been regenerated by knife chop, carding and other methods. Identification method: a. Look at the appearance. Regenerated cotton looks like cotton. The fibers are smooth but the length is very different. They are different from normal ones. The natural appearance of cotton fiber is different; b. When the regenerated cotton is pulled by hand, there are long fibers in the cotton bundle, which are the regenerated chemical fibers incorporated. It has high strength and is not easy to tear; c. Observe the cotton under ultraviolet light. If there are yellow, blue and other colors, it is produced by the chemical fibers in the regenerated cotton. Normal cotton does not have this color. 3. When blending cotton linters, you should pay attention to: a. Appearance. The cotton blended with cotton linters has many small neps (white stars), different fiber thicknesses, and many impurities. b. Color, the color of normal cotton fibers is white, which is different from that of cotton linters. There is a difference in the white color of cotton linters; c. Elasticity, the elasticity of cotton becomes worse after incorporating cotton linters; d. When cotton bundles are pulled by hand, the fiber layer before bunching becomes significantly shorter, which is inconsistent with normal cotton fibers. 4. To identify the lard oil and talcum powder sprayed on high-grade cotton, a. Smell the smell, this adulterated cotton has the odor of lard or even a fishy smell; b. Look at the color, the cotton is white with light red in color, dull; c. Knead, rub the cotton with both palms vigorously, your hands will be stained with white powder, and the agglomerated talcum powder will fall off.
