The five must-visit attractions in Yinchuan include Zhenbeibao Western Cinema, Xixia Royal Tombs, Chinese Homecoming Cultural Park, Ningxia Museum, and Ningyuan.
Ningyuan: Ningyuan is located on the south side of Jiefang East Street in Yinchuan City. It is the first small garden in Ningxia with a group of Qing Dynasty antique buildings as its main body. Ningyuan is located in Xingqing District, Yinchuan City, bordering Gulou South Street to the west, Jiefang East Street to the north, and Yuhuangge South Street to the east. Entering the garden from the west gate, you enter the bonsai area. The main area consists of "Xingqing Hall", "Qinming" Pavilion, monument, corridor and pool. "Xingqing Hall" is the tallest palace in the garden.
The walk from the Drum Tower to the Yuhuang Pavilion is only a few hundred meters away. Within these few hundred meters, the local area has restored green space at the original site. In the Ningyuan with large red lacquer pillars, there are various places to enjoy the shade. There is an endless stream of citizens playing chess and resting. The main hall of Ningyuan is now a seal club, some are not, and the market is busy.
Ningxia Museum: Ningxia Museum is located in Jinfeng District, Yinchuan City. Together with the Yinchuan Grand Theater on the east side and the Ningxia Library on the north side, it forms a central area for citizens' learning and activities. The museum's plane layout is in the shape of "Hui", echoing the "Hui" of the Hui people. The building is magnificent and there are many reliefs with ethnic minority characteristics on the outer walls.
The biggest feature of the Ningxia Museum is the collection and display of Xixia cultural relics, especially the display of Xixia characters, which makes people stop and watch. Xixia characters were reconstructed based on the structure of Chinese characters. They have a square shape and many strokes. At first glance, they look very similar to Chinese characters, but they are not the same as any Chinese characters. Under Li Yuanhao's active promotion, Xixia writing quickly became popular. From official documents to seals and inscriptions, the new writing was used as a communication tool, and a set of calligraphy fonts such as seal, official, regular, running and cursive were developed.
