In 2005, Baigezhuang Town passed the certification of pollution-free agricultural products base. In 2013, the Hebei Binhai Rice Research Institute held an on-site demonstration meeting of new varieties in Baigezhuang Town to promote and demonstrate new varieties of rice, such as Huaxiang and Rouge rice. Luannan Baigezhuang rice is famous far and wide for its uniform grains, rich stickiness, glutinous softness and fragrant aroma, and strong palatability, which is comparable to Tianjin's "Xiaozhan rice". "Baiyu" and "Luanyu" brand Baigezhuang rice, as a Luannan specialty, have appeared at previous Tangshan Agricultural Exhibitions and Hebei Provincial Agricultural Exhibitions, and have been rated as "Tangshan City Specialty Agricultural Products" and "Hebei Province Famous Agricultural Products" .

Baigezhuang rice is mainly produced in Baigezhuang Town, Luannan County. Baigezhuang Town is located in the southwest of Luannan County, Hebei Province, on the lower reaches of the Luan River and on the coast of the Bohai Sea. It has a history of rice cultivation for more than 70 years. The Baigezhuang rice area protection scope includes 45 villages in Baigezhuang Town, extending from Nanjiezhuangzi in the east, Zhangcuigezhuang in the south, Xiaoshuangtuo in the west, and Wanggoufu in the north. The geographical coordinates are 118o37′12″ east longitude~ 118o27′58″, north latitude 39o17′4″～39o24′25″. The protected area is 119,400 acres, the area planted with rice year-round is 70,000 acres, and the annual rice output is 38,000 tons.

Product quality characteristics

1. Product external quality characteristics: Baigezhuang rice is crystal clear and smooth, with uniform and neat grains, less broken rice, less impurities, and less white belly. , the polished rice rate is ≥95, the chalky rice rate is ≤7, the chalkiness is ≤5, and the thousand-grain rice weighs about 20 grams. When steamed, the rice is fragrant. The rice grains have a tight structure, are sticky and shiny. It is smooth, glutinous and fragrant after entering the mouth. It has a delicate texture, moderate hardness and softness, and has the natural aroma of rice. 2. Product intrinsic quality characteristics: Baigezhuang rice is rich in nutrients.
