Approved by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, "Shangyou Green Tea" declared by Shangyou County was successfully registered as a geographical indication certification trademark. This is the first geographical indication certification trademark of agricultural products approved by the county, and Shangyou has also become one of the few counties and cities with geographical trademarks in China.
Shangyou County is a famous "hometown of tea" in the whole province. Because of its unique climate and geographical conditions, the tea produced has a unique flavor of "high fragrance, mellow taste, green color, green soup and beautiful shape". In recent years, the county has vigorously developed the "two teas and one seedling" industry (tea, camellia oleifera and osmanthus seedlings) according to the development strategic concept of "building the framework in three years, laying the foundation in five years and building the system in ten years". After years of efforts, tea has formed a strong industrial advantage in Shangyou County. At present, the county has 72,000 mu of tea gardens, with an annual output of more than 0.5 million tons of tea/kloc-0. The successful registration of this trademark will further enhance the brand awareness of tea in Shangyou County, form the core competitiveness of "Shangyou Green Tea", and promote the enthusiasm of tea farmers to grow tea and increase income and efficiency.
