Basic overview
The establishment of Chenghai County began in the 42nd year of Jiajing (1563 AD). Chenghai County was affiliated to Chaozhou Prefecture in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and was affiliated to the Chaozhou Administrative Inspectorate during the Republic of China.
