Yikun Palace in the Forbidden City was originally named Wan 'an Palace, and was renamed Yikun Palace in the 14th year of Ming Jiajing. It was the place where concubines of Ming and Qing dynasties lived. There is a wooden screen wall behind Yikun Gate, and the screen wall here is also a memorial archway. If you close the door, there are four big characters from the outside: "Bright and prosperous times". In the Ming Dynasty, the word "day" was written as "eye" with an extra horizontal edge, while the word "sheng" was missing a dot, which was a metaphor for "Ming will never rise again, and prosperity will never end".
