How to identify the quality of ceramic tiles and floor tiles?

Online shopping has become a consumption habit, but ceramic tiles are different from others. When purchasing, you will have more doubts than other products. In the myriad of Taobao markets, how to be unique? Is Huiyan's choice just right for you? How to choose the best one among many similar products? How should we choose ceramic tiles (or how to identify the quality of ceramic tiles)?

In the inspection of the ceramic industry, we often use a sentence like this: "Look, listen, listen, measure and measure once."

The so-called first look:

1. Look at the outer packaging of the ceramic tiles to see whether there is the factory name, address and trademark, so as to avoid buying three-no products (except for those exported to domestic sales for packaging).

2. Check the glaze of the tiles to see if there are any pinholes, spots, cracked glaze, glaze texture, trauma, color difference, and the pattern should be delicate, with no obvious color leakage, dislocation, or breakage. lines or different shades.

3. Check whether the tiles are deformed and measure whether the two diagonals of the tiles are equal. Bricks with flat sides are easier to lay and have better results (visual inspection method: place the floor tiles on a flat surface and see if they are Check whether the four sides are completely consistent with the flat surface. At the same time, check whether the four corners of the tile are at right angles. Then place the tile among tiles of the same variety and model to observe the degree of color difference. Test method: Take out one piece of tile, align the two pieces, and leave a gap in the middle. The smaller the better. If it is necessary to use four pieces of pattern tiles to piece together a complete pattern, you should also check whether the patterns of the tiles are connected and clear. Put the tiles up one by one and compare the sizes of the small tiles. The deviation is allowed to be plus or minus 1 mm, and the large bricks are allowed to be plus or minus 2 mm)

Excellent products: At least 95% of the bricks have no defects when viewed vertically from a distance of 0.8m;

Qualified products: At least 95% of the bricks have no defects on the surface when viewed vertically from a distance of 1m.

Second listening:

1. It can be knocked, and the crisp sound indicates that the ceramic tile has high density and hardness and is of good quality (gently tap the floor tile with your hand, if the tile emits "pop" The sound of "pop" indicates that it is not sintered enough and the texture is inferior. If it makes a slight "thump" sound, its texture is harder than the previous piece) (In fact, the method is very simple, just knock it with your hands. , High-density ceramic tiles have a crisp sound when knocked out, while low-density ceramic tiles make a dull brick sound.) 2. Use the thumb, index finger and middle finger of one hand to pinch the corner of the ceramic tile. Hang down and tap the middle and lower part of the tile with the index finger of the other hand. If the sound is clear and pleasant, it is a top quality product. If the sound is dull and astringent, it is a poor quality product.

Third test:

Look at the water absorption rate of the tiles. Use water drops on the back of the tiles. The smaller the diffusion area, the longer the drying time, the lower the water absorption rate, and the better the quality of the ink. Observe the drops of tea/tea water on the back of the ceramic tile. If the dropped ink/tea water is absorbed immediately, it means that the density is poor, otherwise it is a good brick. Generally speaking, products with lower water absorption rates have relatively higher strength and better frost resistance. If users purchase ceramic tiles mainly for flooring or outdoor walls, they need to purchase products with lower water absorption, such as porcelain tiles or stoneware tiles. If the user purchases bricks mainly for indoor walls, such as kitchen and bathroom walls, they can choose products with higher water absorption, such as ceramic bricks. However, it should be pointed out that this type of product has relatively high requirements for resistance to cracking, thermal shock resistance, pollution resistance and chemical corrosion resistance.

Four quantities:

In fact, the standard of the four quantities also depends on the flatness of the bricks. There is also a coefficient test closely related to the ceramic tiles, the wear resistance test.

(Flatness test)

Abrasion resistance: Wear resistance cannot be determined by sensory alone. It may depend more on some technical indicators. Among many standards, the degree of matching (also called wear resistance) is an important judgment standard. It indicates the degree to which the tiles are easily worn. Generally speaking, it can be divided into five degrees:

I degree: resistance It has the lowest wear rate and is generally used for displays, walls and places with minimal activity.

II degree: The wear resistance of ceramic tiles is greater than that of I degree. It is mainly used in bathrooms, bedrooms and other environments without hard friction.

Grade III: Moderate wear resistance, mainly used in places with a large amount of activity. Such as living room, kitchen, etc.

IV degree: higher wear resistance. It is very suitable for use in foyers, corridors of luxury homes and public places.

V degree: There is no clear concept of the division of V degree. But in theory, it has super wear resistance and is generally used in non-home environments, such as airports, stations, etc.
