People from the city, people walking birds, discussing things, and matchmaking, can come and sit for a long time whether they have anything to do, drink a bowl of tea when they are thirsty, or a bowl of rotten pork noodles when they are hungry.

In 1898, most teahouses closed down completely, but Yutai Teahouse was still bustling with activity.

Wang Lifa is the shopkeeper of Yutai Tea House.

Since his father's death, Wang Lifa took over Yutai Teahouse.

Following the old methods left by his father, Wang Lifa continues to use this classic business philosophy, saying more good things and saying hello more can make people like him.

The large painting of the "Eight Drunken Immortals" on the wall, including the God of Wealth niche, has been removed and replaced with fashionable beauties - advertisements for foreign cigarette companies. But even if Wang Lifa wants to save the public, he himself has no time to spare.

The patrol police came to urge them to hand over the dry food. If they did not hand over the dry food, Wang Lifa would directly give them tea money. Wang Lifa repeatedly dealt with the situation, playing the emotional card. Everyone thought that he lived a submissive life under the high pressure of power. In fact, he was just trying to preserve this corner of his existence.

Life in a teahouse is not a good one, but in order to survive, Wang Lifa understands well enough:

Putting aside one's dignity and making money is the greatest dignity for middle-aged people.

Of course, there are many people who can’t bear to lose face.

Song Erye was originally a banner man. Before the fall of the Qing Dynasty, he was idle, drinking tea, playing with birds, and leisurely eating the imperial grain produced by "hardcore crops". After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, what he missed most was his identity as a bannerman and his past life, so he was unwilling to support himself.

After the Qing Dynasty was completely destroyed, Chang Siye lost his status as a bannerman.

Once upon a time, he was dissatisfied with the corrupt Qing Dynasty and hated foreigners even more. In the first act, he was arrested for saying "the Qing Dynasty is about to end" and spent a year in prison. After he was released from prison, he joined the Boxer Rebellion.

When others were overwhelmed by the times, Chang Siye became a vegetable vendor to make a living.

Fourth Master Chang walked into the teahouse where he once drank tea, carrying a bunch of pickled radishes and two chickens.

He was not afraid of being laughed at by people who knew him, so he openly called Wang Lifa "Shopkeeper Wang".

He relied on his own efforts. If he didn’t have royal food to eat, he would use his strength.

When he couldn't buy vegetables for resale outside the city, he grabbed here and there and caught two chickens to sell.

Once upon a time, when the villain saw Fourth Master Chang in such a state of desolation, he couldn’t help but sigh, “Hahaha! Isn’t this Fourth Master Chang?”

Fourth Master Chang only said that they were lackeys of foreigners, with the backing of foreigners, and said: "Goodbye, you two, I hope you will be promoted and make a fortune soon!"

In the face of unavoidable suffering, you can bend your back, but never lower your head and never stop walking, which is called "uncompromising".

As you enter the second half of your life, just keep your head high and look forward. If you take another step forward, you are not only trying to stand in front of your children, but in fact, you are also charging for yourself.
