Abstract: Hot stamping paper, also known as anodized aluminum, is mainly used to hot stamp patterns and text onto the surface of materials. Compared with traditional printing, hot stamping paper has a unique decorative effect and is loved by many people. . Different hot stamping methods are used when hot stamping different materials such as cloth and leather. Pay attention to choosing the appropriate hot stamping foil. The hot stamping parts should be kept dry to avoid acid, alkali or humid environments from corroding the hot stamping paper. Sometimes there will be problems with hot stamping when using hot stamping paper. The problem may be that the hot stamping temperature is too low, the pressure is too low, or the hot stamping paper is of the wrong model or poor quality. Let’s learn how to use hot stamping paper! How to use hot stamping paper
1. Flat iron fabrics. Place the hot stamping paste on the screen printing screen. Use a squeegee to print the hot stamping paste onto the surface of the object (such as cloth, clothing, etc.). Wait until the hot stamping paste is applied. After drying, buckle the hot stamping paper on the surface of the fabric at 130~140℃, pressure 4kg/cm², for more than 10 seconds, take it out, and tear off the waste film after cooling.
2. For flat ironing of leather products, the main tool is an aluminum or copper hot stamping plate, which is suitable for hot stamping of leather and other products. The pressure is smaller than fabric hot stamping, and the hot stamping time is shorter than fabric hot stamping. It can be flexibly controlled according to different products.
3. For hot stamping of ribbon products, commonly used tools: silicone wheel, mostly used for hot stamping of trademark ribbons.
4. Cloth products are hot stamped, and are often used for hot stamping on entire rolls of fabrics. According to the hot stamping effect, the varieties include special hot stamping and general hot stamping. The types of hot stamping paper generally include: full transfer film, semi-transfer film, etc. The colors generally include: single-color film, multi-color film, etc.
In addition, there is also a difference between glue and glue-free on the back of the hot stamping paper. Glued (i.e. hot melt adhesive coated on the back) hot stamping paper is generally more common in leather hot stamping. Glue-free hot stamping paper is generally used for fabric hot stamping because the operation is more flexible during the actual production process. Of course, there are also some specific patterns with hot stamping glue coated on the back, such as positioning hot stamping film. Bronzing glue is also divided into water-based and oil-based, which can be selected and used according to different materials. Do not wipe the hot stamping surface or rub the fabric with your hands after hot stamping. It is recommended to do a washing test after 24 hours for the best effect. In addition, the hot stamping paper must be protected from sunlight, rain or moisture during transportation and storage. After the hot stamping paper arrives at the factory, it must be stored in a cool, ventilated and dry area.
Precautions for using hot stamping paper
1. The appropriate hot stamping foil must be selected according to different types of hot stamping. When hot stamping, you must master the three-way coordination of temperature, pressure, and hot stamping speed, and they vary according to the hot stamping material and hot stamping area. Depending on the material, the hot stamping temperature is between 120-160°C and the hot stamping time is 0.4-1 seconds.
2. When cutting, let the turning tool fly first, and then push it gently. When eating the knife, you should push it slowly, and let the turning tool start flying again and advance gradually. Do not push it quickly or push it hard when eating the knife. , when cutting, the rotation direction of the electrochemical aluminum hot stamping foil should be opposite to the direction of the label arrow.
3. The electrochemical aluminum hot stamping foil has a vacuum aluminum plating layer, which is very sensitive to acid, alkali and humid environment. For this reason, the paper, ink (especially black ink), drying oil, and compound glue used by the user must be neutral. The hot stamping parts must be kept dry to avoid oxidation or damage to the hot stamping layer.
What should I do if the hot stamping paper fails to print?
1. The hot stamping temperature is too low
The hot stamping temperature of the printing plate is too low and cannot reach the anodized aluminum foil release sheet. The minimum temperature required for base and transfer to the substrate. During hot stamping, the hot stamping paper is not transferred completely, resulting in the image and text being blurred, the bottom being exposed, or the hot stamping not being able to go on. If this kind of quality problem is discovered, the temperature of the electric hot plate should be increased appropriately in time until a perfect printed product is produced.
2. The hot stamping pressure is small
During the hot stamping process, if the hot stamping pressure on the printing plate is too small and the pressure on the anodized aluminum foil is too light, the hot stamping paper will not be transferred smoothly. The hot stamping image and text are incomplete. If you find this situation, you should first analyze whether the hot stamping pressure is low, and observe the severity of the imprinting marks. If the hot stamping pressure is low, you should increase the hot stamping pressure.
3. The background color is excessively dried and the surface crystallizes
When hot stamping, the dryness of the background color should be within the printable range and printed immediately. When printing the background color, the ink layer should not be too thick. When the printing volume is large, it should be printed in batches to shorten the production cycle appropriately. Once crystallization is found, printing should be stopped immediately, and the fault should be found and eliminated before continuing to print.
4. The hot stamping paper is of wrong model or of poor quality
When the hot stamping paper is of wrong model or of poor quality, it will also cause problems with the hot stamping quality. At this time, the hot stamping paper should be replaced with a suitable model, good quality, and strong adhesion.
