Jiayuguan Jiuquan Airport originated from Jiuquan Airport 1953. 1July, 983, Jiuquan Airport was renamed as "Jiayuguan Airport". On September 28th, 20 10, the reconstruction and expansion project of Jiayuguan Airport passed the industry acceptance. On March 20th, 2023, with the approval of the General Department of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Jiayuguan Airport was renamed as "Jiayuguan Jiuquan Airport".

Jiayuguan Jiuquan Airport is an important regional airport in Gansu Province, and it is also the only E-class airport for domestic and international flights on Lanzhou-Urumqi route and Eurasian route. After the reconstruction and expansion, the grade index of the airport flight area will be 4D (considering the E-class aircraft alternate), which can meet the target of passenger throughput of 6.5438+0.6 million passengers, cargo and mail throughput of 6.5438+0.000 tons and aircraft take-off and landing of 654.38+0.865.438+0 sorties in 2030.
