On November 16, 2009, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine approved Guangji Bergamot Yam as a geographical indication product and stipulated the quality requirements for Guangji Bergamot Yam products.
(1) Variety.
The Dioscorea yam strain is a local bergamot yam farmer variety.
(2) Site conditions.
The protected area contains yellow-brown soil and sandy loam with an altitude of 40 m to 650m, a pH value of 5.5 to 7.0, a soil thickness greater than 100cm, and an organic matter content of ≥2.
(3) Cultivation and management.
1. Selection of seed potatoes: Choose yam tubers that are free from pests and diseases and have a lot of mucilage.
2. Preparing seeds: Cut the selected seed potatoes into sections. Each section weighs about 35g. Dip the cut with lime powder or sterilize it with 10 carbendazim. Place it indoors and wait for the cut to dry. kind.
3. Sowing: The tillage depth is not less than 30cm, the sowing depth is 6cm to 8cm, the sowing density is ≤120,000 plants per hectare, and the crop rotation is once every 2 years.
4. Field management:
(1) Pruning: leave 1 to 2 main vines per plant.
(2) Frame: set up as a "human" frame, with the ground part not less than 1.2m.
(3) Weeding: Manual weeding, the use of herbicides is strictly prohibited.
(4) Fertilization: Apply 5000kg to 8000kg of decomposed organic fertilizer and 500kg of ternary compound fertilizer (N:P:K total content is more than 45 and does not contain chlorine) per hectare.
5. Environmental and safety requirements: The use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, etc. must comply with relevant national regulations and must not pollute the environment.
(4) Harvesting.
It can be harvested from mid-to-late October to early February of the following year.
(5) Quality characteristics.
1. Sensory characteristics: palm-shaped appearance; thin skin with earthy yellow color; meat in cross-section is white, fragrant, with sufficient moisture and rich starch content; after cooking, the taste is smooth and easy to chew. Wood fiber residue.
2. Physical and chemical indicators: moisture content ≤70; starch content (based on dry matter) ≥18.0; reducing sugar content ≥0.3; crude protein content ≥2.0; single tuber weight ≥150g.
3. Safety requirements: Product safety indicators must meet relevant national regulations for similar products.
